Kesa Cloud 9 Resort
From $55 AUD pp/night
Situated directly in front of the world famous Cloud 9 surf break, Kesa Cloud 9 Resort was established in 1995, making it the longest running resort on Siargao Island. The resort is owned and operated by Kevin and Sara Davidson. Kevin first visited the Philippines in 1986 and surfed extensively in the northern part of the country for six years. In 1992 he explored Siargao Island and surfed its coastline for the next 3 years, most times with only one or two other surfers. An opportunity arose to establish the resort in 1995 and Kevin has successfully managed the resort since then.
Having undergone extensive renovations over the past four years and the building of a brand new restaurant in 2008, Kesa Cloud 9 Resort is simply the best place to stay on Siargao Island. The views over the lagoon and Cloud 9 are breathtaking and resort’s gardens and surrounds are meticulously maintained.
Kesa Cloud 9 Resort has been built with consideration for all budgets. Rooms range from deluxe aircon to standard fan rooms, with all rooms having spectacular views over the Cloud 9 surf break.
The resort offers two types of rooms, all with uninterrupted views over the surfbreak.
The deluxe aircon rooms have two Queen size beds and are our largest rooms.
The standard aircon rooms have one Queen size bed.

The resort also boasts a brand new restaurant, completed late 2008, with exceptional views over the lagoon. The restaurant serves a variety of Western and Filipino food; based around fresh seafood, chicken, beef and pork dishes served with a variety of vegetables. Our fresh salads, selection of tropical fruits and fruit shakes are always available. The average price for a main meal is $US5-10.

Siargao Island – Cloud 9 Philippines
Siargao Island is situated off the north-east tip of Mindanao Island, Philippines (approx. 10 degrees above the equator). It has an area of 480 sq. kms and boasts a Pacific-facing coastline of about 35 kms. Along this coastline there are numerous surf breaks and countless pristine, white sand beaches – a true tropical paradise Cloud 9 Philippines.
Cloud 9 Philippines surf break was originally called “Boyum’s” after surf explorer Mike Boyum who spent time on Siargao Island in the late 1980’s and, unfortunately, died in the vicinity of Cloud 9 after a lengthy fast. The name was changed to “Cloud 9” by photographer/journalist John S. Callahan in 1992, primarily named after the candy bar called Cloud 9. Callahan visited Siargao Island in 1992 with Taylor Knox and Evan Slater, and together with Kevin Davidson they scored some epic waves at the now famous Cloud 9 surf break.
Apart from the usual pastimes of swimming, sunbathing, and generally relaxing on a tropical island paradise, Siargao Island boasts some unique activities and attractions. Island hopping day tours to Guyam, Daku and Naked Islands; Day trip to Suhouton Caves – one of the really unique attractions of this area; Van tours to circumnavigate the island, enjoying the spectacular scenery of Mapapungko pools and the tropical rainforest of Tak Tak Falls; also fishing, diving and snorkeling can be arranged by the resort. Surfboard riding lessons and surfboard hire are also available as well as hiring of motor bikes to explore the island at your own leisure. All of the activities can be arranged through the resort.
