Anne Judith 2 is a North Sea drifter designed by the British admiralty to serve in the royal navy. She was launched in 1944. The vessel was used as a minesweeper based in Malta for many years before being decommissioned and undertaking the long journey south from England to Australia. On arrival to Australia the Anne Judith 2, originally named “MV52” found her new home port at Fremantle, Australia.
After a successful career as a commercial diver Captain Brett Haysom decided to buy the vessel and refit her to suit the modern day charter market. He then set on his journey north to the islands of Indonesia where he became a pioneer in the Indonesian surf travel industry, allowing westerners to enjoy the magic surf of the Indonesian islands. During 1985 – 2005 the Anne Judith 2 was based in the port of Benoa in Bali, where she travelled as far east as Irian Jaya in search of the perfect wave. Anne Judith 2 then retired from service to undertake a complete rebuild which started in 2002 and was complete January 2012. She is now fully reconditioned and ready to serve once again as a unique expedition vessel for Indonesian Archipelago surf, dive and fishing charters.

An Indo Boat Trip charter offers a wide variety of waves in a little known area of world for the surfer willing to go well off the rumb line. Seldom photographed or publicized, the waves on the islands between Bali and Timor are some of the best and least crowded in the world. There over 30 known breaks on 17 Islands with many more yet to discovered. Most are true “secret spots” The majority of the time you will be surfing with only your friends on board the Anne Judith II.
Everything a surfer dreams about is here. Long reef points, some with rides of 45 seconds, sand bottom beach breaks to super hollow reef passes provides a variety of surf for everyone from short board rippers to long boarders.
One of the coolest aspects of our trips is that there are many spots yet to be discovered and we will be actively exploring as we travel from island to island.
We feel that to name, describe or go into detail is unnecessary and leads to overexposure. We let the photos and guest’s comments speak for themselves…
Specific information about the waves and conditions can be had by direct contact with Captain Gary Burns by email For U.S. agent contact Sean Murphy of Water Ways Travel Company in Santa Monica Califorinia.
